Emma Thompson exudes timeless elegance in a cream pencil dress as she picks up Best Actress at the Empire Film Awards

She was competing for red carpet attention with the likes of Margot Robbie and Kate Beckinsale.
But Emma Thompson positively exuded timeless elegance as she strutted her stuff at the 2014 Jameson Empire Film Awards at London's Grosvenor House Hotel on Sunday night.
Livening up the arrivals by putting on a rather energetic display, the 54-year-old actress showcased her envy-inducing hourglass curves in a form-fitting cream pencil dress.

Clinging to her stunning figure to perfection, the British thespian's choice of red carpet ensemble proved to be both a flattering and classic sartorial decision.
The talented actress completed her red carpet ensemble with dramatic bronze make-up to high-light her naturally striking features as she worked her magic in front of the camera.
While Emma's choice of outfit was certainly a sartorial winner, she was also a winner in the hotly-contested Best Actress category.
Presenting the award, Emma's close friend, Stephen Fry told the great and good of the British movie industry: 'This one goes to... the genius of our age, Emma Thompson.'
Receiving a standing ovation as she took to the stage, Emma was typically hilarious when it came to her acceptance speech - paying tribute to her husband, Greg Wise, 47.
She joked: 'I've got a lot of people to thank but there are none of them here, so I'm not going to bother.
'But my husband is here so I'm going to thank him for many things, first of all for pointing out I had a big hole in the back of my dress and for all the animal noises he made while I had that perm (for Saving Mr. Banks) which went on and on, and for refusing to have sex with me while I had it.
'So thank you Greg, and thank you for coming tonight."
Other winners on the night included Margot Robbie, who took home Best Female Newcomer for her role alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street.
Sally Hawkins was named Best Supporting Actress for her part opposite Cate Blanchett in Blue Jasmine, while James McAvoy scooped Best Actor for Filth.

Elsewhere, Gravity won the top prize of the evening, Best Film.
