Clinging to her stunning figure to perfection, the British thespian's choice of red carpet ensemble proved to be both a flattering and classic sartorial decision.
The talented actress completed her red carpet ensemble with dramatic bronze make-up to high-light her naturally striking features as she worked her magic in front of the camera.
While Emma's choice of outfit was certainly a sartorial winner, she was also a winner in the hotly-contested Best Actress category.
Presenting the award, Emma's close friend, Stephen Fry told the great and good of the British movie industry: 'This one goes to... the genius of our age, Emma Thompson.'
Receiving a standing ovation as she took to the stage, Emma was typically hilarious when it came to her acceptance speech - paying tribute to her husband, Greg Wise, 47.
She joked: 'I've got a lot of people to thank but there are none of them here, so I'm not going to bother.
'But my husband is here so I'm going to thank him for many things, first of all for pointing out I had a big hole in the back of my dress and for all the animal noises he made while I had that perm (for Saving Mr. Banks) which went on and on, and for refusing to have sex with me while I had it.
'So thank you Greg, and thank you for coming tonight."
Other winners on the night included Margot Robbie, who took home Best Female Newcomer for her role alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street.
Sally Hawkins was named Best Supporting Actress for her part opposite Cate Blanchett in Blue Jasmine, while James McAvoy scooped Best Actor for Filth.

Elsewhere, Gravity won the top prize of the evening, Best Film.

The gorgeous actress of Vampire Diaries, Nina Dobrev was spotted at the PaleyFest 2014. Nina Dobrev attended The Paley Center for Media's PaleyFest 2014 Honouring ‘The Vampire Diaries' wearing a knee length dress.

Nina Dobrev who is known for her sassy and sexy style statement carried a different look at the PaleyFest 2014. Nina was dressed in an indigo-blue coloured Michael Kors dress. The blue coloured silhouette is from Michael Kors' Spring 2014 collection.
Nina Dobrev In Michael Kors Dress

Nina who loves flaunting her svelte figure in body con and well fitted dresses wore a loose fitting knee length frilly Michael Kors outfit this time. The blue dress had silver sequin work all over it. The bodice of the Michael Kors dress was stylish and bold.

The bodice of the dress featured a keyhole neckline that flashed Nina's cleavage a little. The neckline had silver work which looked nice. We loved the loose fitted half sleeves of the Michael Kors dress. The dress was accessorised with a thin black obi belt. Nina Dobrev carried the Michael Kors dress with Edie Parker mini ‘Jean' silver confetti clutch.

Lina Noel jewels and Aperlai black embellished ankle strap heels completed Nina Dobrev's look at PaleyFest 2014. black smokey eye makeup, nude coloured matte lips and light evening makeup gave a finishing touch to the overall look of Nina Dobrev.

Something that went wrong with the overall look was her hairdo. Nina's half-pinned hair with the black bow hair pin on the top was a little awkward with this chic look. The bow just makes Nina look like a teen who is going for the prom!

Safety pin dress take two! Maggie Q ditches undies to expose every inch of thigh

Lady Victoria Hervey did it at the Grammys, Mel B did it at an Oscars party – and now Maggie Q has stepped up her game to don one of the most daring frocks we've seen at a premiere.
The 34-year-old, who gained fame as the lead in The CW's action series Nikita, only has a minor role in new blockbuster Divergent, but you'd be forgiven for thinking she was the leading lady based on her eye-catching dress.
Maggie Q, legs, naked dress, sexy
Maggie ditched her knickers to bare every inch of thigh – and then some – in a revealing LBD that blew her co-stars out of the water.
The black frock featured a completely bare side panel, with the front and back being held on to the beauty's body with five thick black straps.
But between the material, it was just Maggie's flesh on show – and it was incredibly obvious that the babe had left both her bra and her undies at home.
Baring a level of sidebooty we've never seen before, Maggie's raunchy mini reminded us all of Liz Hurley's infamous safety pin dress.
The iconic Versace number, worn by Liz to the premiere of Four Weddings And A Funeral premiere in 1994, rocketed the Brit to international fame, and could be the inspiration for the current minor stars of Hollywood.
Whether Maggie's take on the classic will gain her international notoriety is unknown, but one thing is for sure – she most definitely stood out of the pack.
Maggie's frock left actual leading lady Shailene Woodley in the shade, despite the pretty star showing off her enviable pins in a slashed gown.
Her vintage-inspired gold off-the-shoulder number was way too dowdy for the 22-year-old, who has chopped off her flowing locks for her role as a cancer patient in her next movie role.
The brunette attempted to sex up her look by flashing her pins via the Angelina leg pose, but failed to outdo co-star Maggie in the sizzling stakes.
Instead of going head-to-head with the action star, Shailene posed with castmate Kate Winslet, who looked sensational in a full-length scarlet gown which flattered her post-pregnancy curves.
The blonde covered up her cleavage, but still managed to shine among the hot young Hollywood cast.

Who needs safety pins and wardrobe malfunctions waiting to happen, eh?

Ethical fashion on the 2014 Oscars red carpet

Olga Kurylenko was on the red carpet at the 2014 Oscars and whilst she may have stunned in her red dress, it was an ethically green piece.
The elegant and sustainably-designed Suzy Amis Cameron’s Red Carpet Green Dress was made from environmentally friendly materials featured a cutout detail and ruffled shoulder detail.
According to Hollywood Reporter, Olga said: "I really admire what Suzy does, and it's important to bring awareness to the fact that we need to be more green. We don't lose quality or beauty. It just takes a bit of thought."
It wasn’t only her dress that was ethically designed either, the Ukrainian-born model and actress wore a pair of metallic-trimmed black faux-suede evening shoes by Beyond Skin, whose handmade vegan and eco-friendly shoes are favourites of Natalie Portman and Anne Hathaway.
The shoes, which will soon be available for sale from Beyond Skin, are made from Dinamica, a durable, long-lasting and sustainable material manufactured in Italy from 100 per cent recycled bottle tops.
"Modern vegan fabrics aren't just kinder to animals than old-school leather is – they're also breathable, more durable, waterproof and eco-friendly", says PETA Associate Director Mimi Bekhechi. "As Olga Kurylenko's fabulous Oscars look proves, thanks to shoes like Beyond Skin's, it's easier than ever to find high-quality high fashion that doesn't come at the cost of any animal's life."

Peta, a longtime partner of Beyond Skin, helped coordinate Kurylenko's footwear with Red Carpet Green Dress, Suzy Amis Cameron's international design contest for gowns and menswear made of organic, sustainable or recycled materials. This is the fifth year of the contest, with Kurylenko and Kellan Lutz – a Peta supporter – wearing this year's winning designer's creations on the red carpet.

When it comes to red carpet Oscars fashion, it isn’t all about the dresses. OK, so it is mostly about the dresses, but these ladies had some pretty spectacular accessories – their significant others. Check out the 10 best dressed couples at the 86th annual Academy Awards.
Julius Tennon and Viola Davis
Viola Davis balances out her gown’s brilliant emerald color by keeping her accessories simple, drawing more attention to her flawless hair and makeup. Husband Julius Tennon cleans up nice, doesn’t he?
Kristin Chenoweth and Dana Brunetti
Nothing says “Oscars” more than Kristin Chenoweth’s gold metallic Roberto Cavalli gown. Her boyfriend Dana Brunetti looks sophisticated while inserting a little quirkiness into his look, by wearing a colored bow tie instead of a black one.
Chiwetel Ejiofor and Sari Mercer
“12 Years a Slave” actor Chiwetel Ejiofor looks like a million bucks all suited up – check out that watch! His girlfriend Sari Mercer’s Suzanne Neville gown hugs her in all the right places without being too clingy. Perfection.
Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell
Kristen Bell looks the opposite of ‘frozen’ – she looks hot in her corseted Roberto Cavalli gown. Husband Dax Shepard’s pocket square and tie bar add just a touch of personality to his clean suit.
John Legend and Christine Teigen
Fashion-forward couple John Legend and Christine Teigan rarely disappoint on the red carpet, and once again they nail their looks. Legend’s classic tux and Teigen’s floral strapless dress is the perfect updated old Hollywood glamour look.
Amy Adams and Darren Le Gallo
Amy Adams hustled down the red carpet in a navy Gucci gown while fiance Darren Le Gallo donned a classic tux. Simple, yet stunning.
Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis
Oliva Wilde has nailed every red carpet look throughout her pregnancy and this is no exception. Her Valentino gown flaunts her bump while still keeping her look simple and clean. The earrings and stacked bracelets add the perfect bohemian touch. Jason Sudeikis isn’t looking too shabby himself!

Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves
Pairing a white tux jacket with black pants is a tough look to pull off, but it works on Matthew McConaughey; the peek of black underneath and bow tie help pull the look together. Wife Camilla Alves glows in a peach gown with a regal train.

Channing Tatum and Jena Dewan
If Channing Tatum must wear clothes, at least he does it in a perfectly tailored tux. Wife Jena Dewan really “stepped up” her style, with a sparkly Reem Acra feather dress.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie really do look like Hollywood royalty. Though Pitt’s tux jacket is a little too long, his shaven face and slicked back hair is such a welcome change, it more than makes up for it. Jolie’s Haute Couture dress shimmers as she walks the red carpet, and gives just a peek at her cleavage.
